Microsoft last rolled out a Service Pack 2 update to its Office for Mac 2011 software in April - patching some previous Outlook issues. Office 2013 and the Office for Mac 2011 update are both expected to ship early next year. The update will bring support for SkyDrive storage and Office 365 allowing them to save and retrieve documents. Yes - LibreOffice works very well on the Retina MacBook Pro. I switched to that and have been using it to write constantly for the past few days. Took a bunch of setup tweaking to get it to look and feel the way I want it to, but that wasn't so bad.
